texas pecan lumber
Pecan Thickness: Available in 4/4 and 8/4 Surfaced: 4/4 is flattened and planed to 15/16”and 8/4 is flattened and planed to 1 15/16” Widths: Ranges from 4” up to 20” Lengths: Standard lengths are 8’ and 12’ long Kiln Dried: To 6-8% moisture content. Shipping: We ship nationwide. Additional Information: Our Texas Pecan lumber is milled from salvaged logs sourced from within a 100-mile radius of our mill. Our logs are milled into lumber with our on-site bandsaw sawmills. The lumber is then slowly and carefully dried in our computer-controlled kilns to a moisture content of 6-8%. After kiln drying, the lumber is flattened with an automatic fed jointer and then planed to a consistent thickness with a helical head planer. We typically produce 4/4 and 8/4 thicknesses. Our 4/4 lumber is sold flattened and planed at 15/16 and 8/4 lumber is sold flattened and planed at 1 15/16”. Additional Information: Only a small percentage of Mesquite logs sawn produce clear, defect-free lumber. This makes obtaining Select Grade Mesquite lumber difficult and rare. To receive a Select grade, the board must be more than 83% clear on the best face and more than 67% clear on the back face. Customers generally purchase this grade when they want a very clean look with minimal epoxy fill. We remove all sapwood from our Texas Mesquite lumber except for small amounts that will be removed with normal jointing and planing.
